It’s that time again for the Annual Dick & Janet Weisel Fish Fry Sunday. It will be Sunday, October 4th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the upper parking lot.
Yes, you read that correctly! After making a few adjustments to align with our new normal, we are excited to announce that the Fish Fry will happen this year! It will be similar to football tailgate parties—outside in our upper parking lot. We will use every other parking space in order to encourage social distancing.
Fish will be served fresh from the fryer to you at your vehicle by the fishermen and committee members. Due to CDC & Health Dept. recommendations, everyone will need to bring their own side dishes, dessert, drinks, complete table service, chairs/small table if desired, hand sanitizer and anything else they care to bring for their own use. Nothing will be shared between vehicles, and people will be asked to stay near their vehicle and not roam the parking lot. Socializing will be limited to those in nearby vehicles, but at least we can see each other in person! Masks must be worn when not actively eating/drinking.
Reservations are required! Click the button below to access Sign Up Genius and simply follow the instructions to make your reservation. Not a computer person? No problem. You can call the church office to make your reservation. Upon arrival, volunteers will be directing you to a parking spot where you can set up your tailgate space. Please follow their directions. Remember—parking is every other space. And don’t forget those masks! Wear them at all times except when you are actively eating/drinking.
This is our first large-scale event since Covid-19, and sadly, Stark County is now in the Red zone for the first time since Ohio began using a color coding
system for Covid-19 awareness. The Red zone is not where we want to be, so extra caution is a must! The Social Ministry Committee wants to continue to make this an annual event, so please follow these guidelines. This way, we can plan more events in the near future. We want to have fun and be safe.
In the event of rain, fish will be available via carryout between 1-2pm for those who have reservations for the tailgate. Please bring your own container. Unfortunately, a rain date is not possible because once the fish is thawed, it can’t be refrozen. In the event of rain, only those who have reservations for the tailgate will be able to pick up fish to go.
Special thanks to the people who caught and cleaned the fish this summer. And to those who will be breading and cooking it for our enjoyment! And finally, thanks to those who so carefully planned this event to be fun and safe! It’s a lot of work and your efforts are truly appreciated!
We look forward to gathering safely for our Annual Dick & Janet Weisel Fish Fry!
